Nick Nieschalke

RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Nick Nieschalke is a Research Assistant at CEIAS. He is also currently finalizing his master’s degree in East Asian Economy and Society at the University of Vienna, and is a Research Associate at the Austrian Institute for European and Security Policy (AIES). His primary research interests lie in EU-China and EU-ASEAN relations within the wider Indo-Pacific context. Notably, he places particular emphasis on the involvement of CEE countries in infrastructure initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Gateway, in addition to examining China-Austria relations. Research interests EU-China relations, US-China rivalry, EU-ASEAN relations, Austria- China relations
