This project aims to deliver the first systematic, EU-wide analysis of relations between Taiwan and all 27 EU member states, as well as the EU as an institution. It will map both historical legacies and current dynamics across key dimensions of engagement, including political, economic, and societal relations, utilizing a unified analytical framework that enables meaningful cross-country comparison. The publication is designed to serve as a foundational reference for future research and policymaking on EU–Taiwan relations, offering clear policy-relevant insights grounded in empirical mapping. In parallel, the project will establish and promote a durable network of European experts on Taiwan, strengthening coordination, expertise, and informed engagement among policymakers, diplomats, and media actors across Europe.
