Lucia Husenicová

Research Fellow

Lucia Husenicova is an assistant professor at the Department of Security Studies, Faculty of Political Science and International Relations, Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica. She is teaching with the study program Security studies two courses, Regional Security and Strategic thinking of superpowers (the U.S., China and Russia), at the same time she teaches courses in English language: History and theory of international relations and Post-Modern International Relations Theory. She is a graduate of the Matej Bel University, Faculty of Political Sciences and International Relations. Her PhD. dissertation was about North Korea as a geopolitical pivot, while her habilitation was concerned with a liberal theory of international relations. Lucia published a book on North Korea in Slovak language being the first publication of this kind in Slovakia. She participates regularly on different reserach projects. She has spend half of a year as a visiting researcher at the United Nations University in Brugge, Belgium and 10 months at the Sogang University in Seoul, South Korea. Research interests: North Korean domestic and foreign policy; East-Asian security; regional security in general; developments on the Korean peninsula; international relations theories
