Thomas Chan

Research Fellow

Thomas Chan is a Hong Kong-based journalist and independent researcher on Asian affairs, with a particular interest in US-China relations, geopolitical balances in Indo-Pacific and East Asia, and Hong Kong’s social issues. He holds a master’s degree in Internal Public Affairs from the University of Hong Kong where he has worked as a research assistant and has written numerous analyses for outlets like The Diplomat, 9Dashline, and ASPI Strategist. His reportage on Hong Kong has appeared in Hong Kong Free Press, Vice News and the Guardian. Research interests: China and East Asia, US-China relations, democracy in Asia, Hong Kong
