Ute Wallenböck is currently assistant professor for Chinese Studies at Masaryk University, Brno, in the Czech Republic. Trained as a Sinologist and Tibetologist, she holds a Ph.D. in Chinese Studies from the University of Vienna. In her dissertation, she investigated the multifaceted identity of the Tibet-Mongols at the Sino-Tibetan borderland. Her current research interests include the Tibetan diasporic communities in Switzerland and Taiwan, as well as various topics regarding the Sino-Mongol and Sino-Russian borderlands.
