CEIAS Opens Prague Office

We are excited to announce that the Central European Institute of Asian Studies (CEIAS) is opening an office in Prague. This expansion marks another significant step in continuing our mission to spread knowledge about contemporary Asia among experts and the public in Central Europe and beyond, while also informing international audiences about Central Europe’s, as well as EU’s relations with Asia.

We are delighted to share that the Prague office will be led by Filip Šebok, a renowned expert on Chinese foreign and domestic policy. The Prague team will be bolstered by data analyst Veronika Blablová and China analyst Kara Němečková.

The establishment of the Prague office reflects our commitment to fostering a greater understanding of Asia in Central Europe and facilitating meaningful exchanges of knowledge and ideas on pressing issues surrounding the rise of China, mounting security tensions in the Indo-Pacific, India and ASEAN’s growing global importance, the EU’s deepening ties with , Taiwan, Korea and Japan, the EU’s economic security on the background of the green transition as well as challenges related to AI and other emerging technologies.

We look forward to the new opportunities this expansion will bring and to collaborating on new projects with both our existing and new partners.
