European-Southeast Asian relations: their current state and future prospect (EUSEAR)

CEIAS is implementing a project on the relations between the EU, and in particular the Central European nations, and Southeast Asian countries.

EUSEAR will explore how the EU-ASEAN collaboration can be improved and how the EU and ASEAN can jointly strengthen the regional order in Southeast Asia. Moreover, the project will analyze how the EU and ASEAN position themselves strategically amid the geostrategic rivalry of China and the United States in Southeast Asia. A specific research interest is how the Visegrad Four (V4) and notably Slovakia can contribute to EU-ASEAN relations and benefit from closer cooperation.

Donor: Funded by the EU NextGenerationEU through the Recovery and Resilience Plan for Slovakia under project No. 09I03-03-V04-00462.
Duration: August 2024-July 2026
