Barbara has extensive research experience in issues related to China's security policy and its relationship with the Middle East, particularly Afghanistan. She has a double MSc from the London School of Economics (LSE) and Beijing University. She has also previously studied in Hong Kong (Lingnan University). Besides her academic interest, she is also the lead senior analyst on Asia at a security consultancy based in London. She has published in and has been quoted in numerous international media outlets, including the Indepen Research interests: China's security policy, China-Middle East relations, China-Afghanistan relations, Terrorism in Southeast Asia
